Shadow Ranch Suggestions

I'm now taking suggestions for "Everything Wrong With Nancy Drew: Secret of Shadow Ranch"!

I'm pretty sure I wrote "vegetable picking challenge" on my list three times.

Game warns you about dangerous storms that never occur, causing unnecessary anxiety.

They claim you need your water canteen to go riding but you never use it.

Also, you can just talk about important stuff near characters (like on the other side of the kitchen from Shorty) and they apparently just can't hear despite being in earshot. It may not be something wrong, it just bothers me.

Speaking of characters, as per usual they are just standing around doing nothing while Nancy does everything

Nancy gets thrown out for picking unripe veg, but can throw out a cake anytime.

Nancy has to fix a fence at night.

All the clues are still there after a couple of hundred years, even the ones just under a rock.

Nancy immediately solves a mystery no one else has been able to solve for a couple of hundred years.

Tex, lol.

Does anyone else think the way Shorty goes "Here's Shorty!" and his expression just then is creepy?

Nancy gets knocked unconscious and doesn't visit the hospital to get checked for a concussion.

The "here's Shorty" is a reference to the horror movie the Shining where the actor says "here's Johnny" when he is crazy and going around with an axe

Which in itself is a reference to Johnny Carson

One of the arrowheads is in the pump house, how did it end up there and how were we expected to know to search in there for it?
The horseshoe that the ghost horse threw is unrealistically far away from where the ghost horse runs, no way it could go that far.
The temperature never changes from day to day.
Charleena emails Nancy about the cracker question, how did she get Nancy's email address?
Nancy has to guess which pan and temperature to cook the cake with... Who decided that was a good idea...

Why does the oven only have 3 temperature settings anyway?
What kind of meals are they cooking with only beans and tomatoes?
Where's the bathroom/dining room/bedrooms at the ranch house? According to what we see in the game, there's a sitting room, a kitchen, and a basement that nobody knew about. That's not really much of a house.

There was a game-breaking glitch that ruined the game for practically everyone.

This was the first game that was based on the Yellow Hardcover Books. Why this one first and not old clock?

YES.

What was the game-breaking glitch?

At the very end of the game, Nancy leaves the culprit standing on a rock and goes to get the sheriff. First, how does she get back to the ranch without a horse because apparently the culprit said he ran hers off and second, getting help without a horse probably took a while, wouldn't the culprit have time to run off so no one could catch him in that time?

^I'm pretty sure Nancy rode back to the ranch on the phantom horse that the culprit had taken to follow her at the end.

Also, when using the word "culprit" to avoid spoilers, it's also helpful to avoid using "he" or "she" pronouns ;)

Oh, yeah, 'cause Mary Yazzie SO might be the culprit...

Once you have finished your chores for the day and your just a few steps away from the house, you can still see the vegetable basket. But as soon as you get closer it disappears.

Why does Tex make you answer questions about horses before you can go riding?
How come you can only ride Bob and not the other horses?
How does Shorty know exactly when you finish making the fire? There aren't any windows for him to look out of.

During the first few game plays, I was stuck leaving the ghost town so I could get a signal to call people, but then I found out there was a glitch that allows us to call while being in the ghost town.

I found the cameo slot machine long, especially when I ran out of coins (or whatever they're called) and had to go back to Mary Yazzie's to play ANOTHER game to get them.

The beading was another puzzle I had a hard time with because we can't see the completion of the final product as we add beads.

If I was Tex, I wouldn't have let a stranger feed the horses. A stranger who has no experience with horses. Or chickens.

The horse-feeding puzzle is confusing as hell.

Why is Nancy required to barrel-race before she can go riding with Bob?

Tex states that Bob won't move if you drop his reins anywhere, but Shorty can scare him off somehow.

The ring display is pointless.

Why do the rings have symbols for sizes?
