Everything Wrong With Nancy Drew: Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake

I'm currently working on Everything Wrong With Nancy Drew: Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake! Please leave me your suggestions.

If you need to jog your memory about this game, Mary and I did a livestream of it on Wednesday. It was interesting to see how Mary was scared of the game's environment. I've played the game so many times at this point that walking around the creepy old cabin doesn't bother me anymore. (That and I know that nothing scary happens with the ghost dogs after the first ten minutes.)

Red Knott is worried about a forest fire, but carries around spark plugs lol. I noticed that during the livestream.

Is it ever explained why the "ghost" dogs' eyes glow?

I remember there is one time you have to take a picture of a bird on the roof of the cabin, it is a hot spot that wasnt active before, and it super hard to find .

The whole search for birds thing is pretty contrived anyway. Redd wouldn't need a bird tape to recognize the birds. And why did he leave his stuff with Emily if he hates her and avoids going to her store?

@Elizabeth In the end, I believe you find some non-toxic "glow in the dark" toothpaste, which the culprit smeared on the dog's teeth, and around their eyes. Of course, the eyes themselves wouldn't be glowing, but the area around them would be, and, in the dark, they might look similar.

Bird watching at night? Okay, there are some nocturnal birds, so I'll let that pass. However, the cerulean warbler he says he was looking for is not one of them. Also, the Western Tanager is not native to Pennsylvania.

Also, in the game the dogs' eyes glow green, but the game cover shows them as yellow. But I think you know this already!

Really enjoyed the Agatha Christies and the Hardy Boys. The HB script has some wit to it and the voice acting is better than I thought it would be after seeing those graphics. Thank you!

Hey Michael I was wondering about your thoughts on Midnight in Salem and how Her Interactive stated that it's not coming out anytime soon?

the russian woman on the phone had to be over 100 years old. assuming she was 19 or 20 in the mid 20s (the youngest possible age for her)

Nancy is nearly burned to death, and the villain is the only person in the area who actually cares. Even then, it's pretend, and she tries to poison Nancy because she makes tea using water from the well that Emily KNOWS is contaminated, since she contaminated it herself. Again, Emily isn't charged with attempted murder, on at least two counts.

Also, the ghost dogs only attack that first night. When Emily sees how stubborn Nancy is about staying, why doesn't she up the number of ghost dog attacks in an attempt to scare her off? This could have at least happened after Nancy finds a way to access the speakeasy during the night. But I'm pretty sure Sally said the dogs attack every night, certainly more often than they attack the house while Nancy is there. Does Emily think that Nancy's somehow going to solve the mystery with vicious, glowing dogs appearing every night? Doesn't make sense.

Why is Nancy OK with a creepy old birdwatcher squatting on Sally's property?

Mickey Malone was so paranoid that he threw all of his workmen out of the state, but he didn't put any freaking locks on his doors??

Where's the bathroom? We know the cabin has running water ...

Incidentally, I'm pretty sure it's plausible for Vivian to still be alive if the game takes place when it was released, back in 2002. Like, there were still WWI vets alive then, and she wouldn't even be as old as that. Both she and Eustacia would definitely be dead by now though :/

@Elizabeth: in the hidden area near the end of the game you find some kind of glowy-eye goggle things that I think the dogs were supposed to have been wearing (not unlike the one you find in CUR except a different color and dog-sized)

Guys, the bathroom is UPSTAIRS.

When and what does Nancy eat? She doesnt even visit the store for at least a day or so and never buys anything. There is no food in the house.

Red Knott. Enough said

when I was younger this game was creepy to me too. I never completed the game until I was older. To me, I loved dogs and the ghost dog scene was too much for me. I did try to play it a bit still, but only when it was day, an impossible thing to do (until now...since you found the cheat menu).

the culprit might use contacts on the eyes of the dogs to make them glow like that. I certainly hope there was not toothpaste in the dogs eyes :(

To me, the game seems to be incredibly uncertain about what colour the dog's eyes are supposed to be. On the front of the box, and in the opening graphic, they're very clearly yellow. The first time we see the dogs during their attack, their eyes look more green than yellow. Then later, Nancy mentions on the phone that they're yellow.
