I vote for Life is Strange and both the Layton games! I will warn you, though, Life is Strange, while good -REALLY good- , goes FAR from the more family-friendly games you play. It deals with death, suicide, bullying, and you basically determine the sexuality of Max, the character you control.

Layton Brothers: Mystery Room is on the App Store, btw, and Life is Strange is on PC, PS4 and XBOX One

This game isn't on your list but it's one I loved as a kid back in the late 90's called Masters of the Elements by a publisher called Tivola. It's sort of an odd point and click adventure game but pretty interesting!! Might be too old to track down tho.

Play Agatha Christie games, they are interesting. The AWE Games series ("And Then There Were None", "Murder on the Orient Express" and "Evil Under the Sun") is amazing, although the click-and-find games are also good
