Three Things Thursday

1. In Labyrinth of Lies, there is a segment where Nancy is chained up by her leg. I wanted to name the video of that part "Nancy Bound", like the ancient Greek play, Prometheus Bound. I decided against that, because it would confuse people.

2. I had vague ideas of doing a book giveaway contest with this week's livestream. I ended up not doing that, because I did a book giveaway in August. None of the winners got back to me. I am officially cutting them off, now. I think three months is long enough to wait, before saying they forfeited their prizes.

3. It's official: I am no longer eating nachos. They taste good, but the quality is WILDLY INCONSISTENT, from location to location. I never know what I'm going to get when I order nachos, and I can't handle it anymore. Especially since many places charge over ten dollars for paltry nachos. I can tell when your recipe is "put them in the microwave for ten seconds", restaurants!

I had the trouble you're having with nachos. . .only with poutine. Finding a restaurant that serves good poutine is HARD. Either they're seriously skimpy, or their gravy is horrible. After moving away from the one restaurant that did it properly, I ended up giving up after trying at various places and being disgusted. Now, when I want it, I just make my own. (And yes, I know you're american, so if you don't know what poutine is. . .google it. ;))

Nachos are really the same way. Its way easier to make them yourself - the way you like them - than put up with over-priced, bad quality restaurant concoctions.

Regarding your cooking skills. . .have you tried the "Cooking Basics for Dummies" book? It might get you started. :) (Actually there's a line of cooking for dummies books. Might be good to get you grounded in the skill, anyway! Thats how I learned how to knit!)

Nachos are really easy to make yourself. That's what I do because it's kind of ridiculous to pay five bucks or whatever on cheese covered chips. You can top it with shredded cheese or queso, whatever you prefer. I like shredded cheese best but every restaurant I go to serves it with liquid cheese.

I don't get why you think it would confuse people? Even if they don't know the work you're referencing, the title still makes sense.
