I thought the pre orders began on the 16th. All well, maybe I was mistaken. I am so excited! What do you think will happen? Do you think Nancy's mom is alive? I have no idea, I'm so baffled! I can't wait to solve this case!

I'm not very excited. I wish HER would have thought of something different. I don't care to know about Nancy's mom because she was never even that important in the books.

Anyway, while I'll still play the game I already have made up my mind about the plot. I'm going to be rolling my eyes.

Wow Lisbeth, way to dis the game before even knowing anything about it! Why even play it if you know you're going to be "rolling your eyes" the whole time?

Well, I for one think it's going to be EPIC.

I can't wait for the game! And, seriosuly ,Lisbeth, wow your just going to hate on Nancy's mom? I admit this game may fail, but it has a huge amount of promise!

I am pretty nervous about the game. Nancy's mom being dead is part of who Nancy is. Having no mother, she is able to comfort those who also have no mothers. That is a really special thing.

I'm hoping for the whole case to be a hoax, with some criminal taking advantage of Nancy's personal life as a way to use Nancy for his/her nefarious purposes. If it is so, I will love this game with all my heart, and hate the villain for being such a jerk. If it is not so, I will still play it, count all of its good qualities, and continue playing the series.

I would be great with Nancy learning more about her mother, and reinforcing her memories about her along the way. But seeing her mom as an animated character would ruin the game for me, unless it was done phenomenally well. It'd be like seeing Nancy's animated face, which I am totally against. It is not that I hate Nancy and her mom. It is that I'm against seeing their animated faces. I have a certain mental image of them, and once they're animated, then my mental image is gone forever. And as hundreds of players have hundreds of different mental images, HeR can't make a character model to please everybody.

Enough negativity. I am excited to see what HeR will do with this game, and with the last two games [DED, GTH] being two of the most amazing ND games in the series, I'm certain that they will handle the story in a great way, whatever route they've chosen to do. .

I'm also one of those not pleased by this idea, but I'm going to wait and see how it turns out. I'm seriously praying it's not actually about Nancy's mom because it'll go against what the books have established. I'm still going to pre-order but I'm not excited this time around.

I'm avoiding the whole rant on your blog, but I posted a really long one on Tumblr. I am Nancy Drew fan by the books, and it's hard for me to hear about this. I'm hoping it's all a hoax.

I see where you guys are coming from. Having no mom is part of Nance's identity. Maybe were seeing it all wrong, maybe... maybe her mom was murdered :( That would be a major plot twist and horribly sad.

I guess my issue is that Nancy's mother is not only dead in the books, she died because of a prolonged illness. If SPY indicates anything else, it's directly in contrast to what was established a very long time ago.

Hmmm, I see what you mean (again) oh boy, you've got me worried now DX
