Movie Previews

I went to see the new Oz movie the other day.  Here are my thoughts on the previews I saw:

1. Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Macguire are co-starring in The Great Gatsby.  I never read that book, but I did read one of the modern-day versions of the book, which I disliked.  I also disliked the movie preview.  Don't get me wrong; I love the idea of Leo and Tobes teaming up to make a movie.  But this is clearly not the movie for them.

No, I want to see them in a comedic buddy film, like Weird Science or Rush Hour.  Maybe a Sherlock Holmes comedy is in order.  Leo and Tobes could make a great Sherlock and Watson.

2. Half of the previews were post-apocalyptic.  Hollywood is fascinated with the end of the world, it seems.

3. Morgan Freedman was in two previews in a row.  It confused me.

I am curious to hear your opinion of the Oz movie. In general, people seem to like it, but those who are really familiar with the books don't seem to be as keen on the plot.
Given that you've probably read more of the Oz series than anyone else I know, I'd love to see your opinions on this trend as well.

You might enjoy the BBC series "Sherlock". It is one of the best series I have ever watched. Each episode is 1 hour and 30 minutes, and you can figure out the mystery yourself. I am sure you would enjoy it.

When I went to see the Hobbit, it seemed like all of the preveiws were about the apocalypse. It got tiring.
