Redoing Walkthroughs

I've been thinking of doing a second video walkthrough for Nancy Drew: Stay Tuned for Danger.  It's an old game (circa 1999) that isn't for sale anymore, so I might as well play it one last time before it becomes impossible for me to play.

This caused me to wonder about my other duplicate walkthroughs.  I did two video walkthroughs for Nancy Drew: Legend of the Crystal Skull.  One was done in 2008, the other in 2011.  Let's see if a chart can help me determine which one is more popular. The numbers are the number of views a video got in the past month.

Looks like people hugely prefer the original walkthrough to the more recent one. Then again, that was my first video walkthrough ever. Some people find it endearing to see what my walkthroughs were like before I knew how to make good walkthroughs.

Now let's put my other duplicate walkthrough to the test. I did the Wii version of White Wolf of Icicle Creek before doing the PC version. Which one is more popular?

This time, the more recent walkthrough is the popular one. Maybe that's because more people have the PC version of the game.

To conclude, in one case, doing a second walkthrough for a game was popular. In the other, it was unpopular. Does this mean I should attempt a second walkthrough for Nancy Drew: Stay Tuned for Danger or not?

I LOVE your original Stay Tuned for Danger walkthrough and think it'd be great if you did another one!

I would love it if you decided to do another one!

Yeah! do one! I would love to see it since Stay Tuned for Danger is discontinued.

Eh, personally, no, I don't think you need to do a new walkthrough. Your first one was perfect, the commentary was hilarious, and I love your little quirks in it, like how you spend an entire video trying to trigger Lillian's phone call. Or, your commentary about how ridiculously cheap Dwanye's plane ticket was, or you making fun of the way Owen Spayder walks, or when you try speaking French, etc. Something like that just adds your own personal touch to it, and makes it more entertaining to watch, versus a straight walkthrough where you know exactly what to do. You can try of course, but your STFD walkthrough has always been favorite because of how funny and spontaneous it is, and I think it will be hard to recapture something like that in a new walkthrough. Thanks for reading! ^_^

I agree with Anonymous right above me. As he/she said, your current walkthrough for STFD is absolutely perfect. It's one of your better ones, I think; it just has that particular "Michael Touch" that we all love. :D

If you do do a new walkthrough, I would watch it, but I think I would always prefer the original. :)

I think it would be really great if you do another one! (:

Do a second one. The first one was probably watches more because it actually did come out first. And if people had already seen it they probably didn't even think about discovering the fact that you actually made an updated one.

@Jackie, it's views in the last month, though. :)

I prefer the first walkthrough of CRY, but that's soley because I really enjoyed seeing what Michael's style was like in the past. :D The second one was good too, but I prefer watching the original one. :)

TOTALLY! It will be awesome!! - Isabelle♥

I think you should leave it as it is. The original is entertaining/helpful enough that a second guide would be unnessecary, and some fans may get confused.

Here's a good compromise -- how about a speed-run of STFD instead of another walk through?

I LOVE the walk through you currently have for STFD but making a speed-run version where you focus on just the puzzles and cut out most of the fluff would be not only helpful to those looking for hints and solutions, but hey -- it's less hassle for you.

I think you should entertain the thought of branching out and playing games that you usually aren't known for. Still logic puzzles in the same vein as ND, but a little more unknown.

"Safecracker" is a good example. Nothing but logic puzzles that you'll either love or it will drive you nuts.

Either way, I look forward to whatever you post next!

if you dont want to do a another walk through, you should do a speen run for it then. to see how fast you can play it. i love your longer videos:)

A second walkthrough or speed run, either way, would be hilarious and amazing!:)

I'm not sure you need one. I wouldn't watch it. You already have one, I don't see a point in having another walkthrough. I agree with you that your second walkthrough for Icicle Creek was only popular because it was the PC game.

i hopw u do anoher one. cause then i would hear new comments from u and u would know what to do. it waouls also be nice since the game is discontinued.

I would say don't do a walkthrough for it, but you could/should still play it because it could stop working soon :) (My copy of SCK has started giving me problems :/)

It'll save you time on editing/thinking of things to say.

'Stay Tuned for Danger' was my favourite game out of the series and I LOVED your walkthrough for it so I say yes! I would definitely watch it.

Well, it's totally up to you. What I will say is that I do prefer your more recent walkthroughs because you're way more funny. However, your STFD walkthrough was great. :) I really enjoyed it.

IF you redo any, how about CAR? I've actually never watched it cause I just can't make it through...
Although tbh, I really hate the game so it might not help. Still, you're kinda quiet and not as charming as you are 99% of the time in the other games :)

I think, if anything, you should do a speed-run. Only because your original walkthrough was so great, funny and informative that it's somewhat unnecessary to do another one.
