Home Alone

I've been by myself for the past few days.  When you're home alone, it starts as rather fun and exciting.  Then it slowly gets sad and depressing, as you get lonelier and lonelier.
Here are a few signs that you've been left alone too long:
  • You wear pajamas past 11:00 AM
  • The highlight of your day is going outside to get the mail
  • You make sock puppets of your family members and have conversations with them
I've been staying up really late, because I don't have anything to do during the first half of the day.  But no matter when I go to sleep, my internal alarm clock wakes me up at 7:00 AM.  For some reason, I find myself unable to sleep in.  I tried asking Sock Puppet Dad why this is the case, but he doesn't have any ideas.

You talk to socks? o_O that's weird. i sometimes do weird things like talking to my cat, accidentally putting my toothbrush into the fridge, but talking to socks is too much even for me :-)

Hope that was a joke

I honestly love being home alone. My mom seriously never stops talking (no matter how many "Mhmm...." replies I give) and on the rare occasions my dad talks, it's to tell me to do something. >_<

You might wake up early if your bedroom windows let in the morning sunlight. The light wakes up your body.

When I'm home alone I talk to myself. A LOT. I'm sure if someone recorded me, I would be instituionalized or something.

...That's basically the life of a homeschooler.

I remember how happy I was when living alone for the first time. But now, I realize that it sucks. I've been with my girlfriend for over 6 years and can't imagine myself without her now.

you seem kinda down lately. I could be wrong, but I hope everything is going okay with you. breaks from routine and school can make you feel pretty sluggish so I hope you find something fun and engaging soon!

You need a regular schedule old thing, and some new challenges. My suggestions are a daily walk, somewhere where you will meet other people either in the countryside, or around town. Get or borrow a dog, for the purposes of social easement when on the aforesaid walk. Go for a coffee or lunch somewhere nice, maybe a picnic. It may sound daft, but pretend you're on a date with yourself. Some effective job searching, but not all day. Watch a film that makes you feel good, preferably laugh. I recommend Muriels Wedding, The Ladykillers (original version), The Shawshank Redemption, Local Hero, Amelie, Shaun of the Dead, Strictly Ballroom, Jurassic Park, Monsters Inc. TEACH YOURSELF TO COOK - you really need to learn to cook a handful of nutritious recipes. Get a haircut. Get some books from the library - something you know nothing about. Volunteer at a local old peoples home or hospital for visits, or help out at a charity shop. You might get back more than you expect. Don't let life get you down. You're not going bonkers in the head, we all feel like that when we change direction and find ourselves at a loose end. If sock puppets help so what? Do whatever makes you feel better.
