Ramblings of Randomness and Sometimes Nancy Drew.
It beats screaming "YAHOO!" and punching the air with your fist. People don't look at you funny when you clap.
I think people clap because it's a way of showing other people that they liked the movie, and that they thought it was really great.
I never clap because most movies I go to stink. Bit maybe their showing their apreciation. Jennifer
The only time I witnessed an audience at the movie theatre clap was at the end of The Guardian. I don't remember that movie very well, but I think it had a incredibly strong ending, and it seemed wrong not to clap.
And how do you KNOW no one related to the movie can hear you...huh?Peter Jackson could be, in fact, hiding in the audience, disguised as that person you THINK is just a batty old lady...who seems to have some facial hair. Ever think about that?
I never clap at movie theaters. I guess people clap to show their appreciation for the movie.
Most of the time, the people in the theater don't seem to clap..at least when I go to the theaters. I just see people stretching and leaving. >_> I guess Washington is less polite than California..
I've never clapped at a movie, and no one in my town ever really claps. I've only witnessed it twice, the first was when I went to one of the Twilight movies the first day it came out, the second was (of course) when I went to Harry Potter. I think it's people's way of saying "THIS MOVIE WAS A F*CKING WIN." But I don't know, because I've seen a lot of F*CKING WINS.
I remember people clapping at a couple I've gone to...StarWars "3" and the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. I think with those it was probably because they were another installment in a link of films. Even if people can't hear your thanks, it's sort of a gesture of "Wow, that was a good movie, it was good enough to bear the name of the ones preceeding it. Good job *insert name of special person here* you helped make another winner!" I remember being to sad to clap when I saw Return of the King or else I would've! ;)
I clap at some movies... I don't know why. It's just sort of a way to show that you liked it.
Clapping after the movie is lame. It's all about clapping before the movie during the MJR theme song.
I will clap if it was really good. When something is really good, it feels like you should clap. Like, if I hear a really gorgeous orchestral song, I often clap, hahah-Maddz
I see it as a sign of respect to all who made such a great piece of entertainment. And in a way, clapping as an audience reminds us that it was indeed a performance, not a reality, and that we all shared it and must make of it now what we will - to learn from it and go do better things with our own lives. What else does great art inspire?
Haha we don't do that, but we do wait until the credits are over to leave the movie theater. Oh, and whenever I first saw this blog post, there was a Nancy Drew/Big Fish Games ad below it! Haha I couldn't believe it!
Clapping at the end of a really good movie just feels right. I don't care if nobody related to the film can hear me, it's just my way of showing my appreciation for the film. If the audience claps at the end of a movie, it's a sign that that movie was really great. :)
I am not sure... if it was a good movie then maybe they clap because they want to say good job to the people who made it. If was a not so good of a movie then maybe because they dont want to be rude? i am not to sure about this one...
i never do that..but i guess people do to show they liked it or its respectful? idk whenever i see a movie that never happens
Well, mabye it's like a play, and people just thought it was a great "performance", so they clap to show their apperication...
I don't clap at cinemas but at theaters I always clap. I think that people clap because they don't want to offens the people who played in that theater meovie.
i don't think i've witnessed it, but i havev almost done it myself. haha, i was about to clap and then i remembered it was just a movie not a show or something :)
People clap at the end of the movie to well.... actually I think its just force of habit. Its just a matter of being polite and respectful. And actually, whenever I go to my movie theater, nobody clapped at the end of the Justin Bieber movie.
MUUAAAAHHAAAHHAAAHHAAAAA THE BUSH PPLZ R HERE TO HAUUUUNNNTTTT UUUU!!!!!!!! LOL SORRY IM SOOOO BORED RITE NOW.
