Three Things

My library has finally put in an order for twelve copies of Nancy Drew: Phantom of Venice. All right! Now that I can play that game again, I can make a deaths video / easter egg video for it.

Right now, I'm working on a deaths/easter egg/location of all 25 glass eyes video for Nancy Drew: Legend of the Crystal Skull. I think the Easter Egg video will be done first, because you can get all the easter eggs about halfway into the game, but to get all the deaths/glass eyes, you have to play all the way through the game. I was going to work on it yesterday, but I ended up reading a Harry Potter fanfic instead.

Tomorrow, I have an interview with some company that's hiring for a "Writing Intensive Internship". I'll let you know how that goes.

My Next Nancy Drew Video, Job-Searching, Alphabet

I think the next Nancy Drew video I'll make is for Danger by Design. Someone requested I make a video of the letter Heather sends Nancy, once Nancy gets Heather fired. Somebody else wanted a close-up on the newpapers in the death scenes, which are pretty funny but hard to see if you're not playing the game in full-screen.

I applied for about thirty jobs today--there are more jobs than normal, because people are hiring for summer jobs. One of them is a month-long house-sitting/dog-watching job like the one I just had. This one will be close to the SCU Library, which is good because I can conduct my amateur research.

Speaking of my amateur research, I just got through transcribing a book on the Latin alphabet. It's interesting to see which letters didn't make it into the alphabet, such as upside-down T or the computer power-on symbol. It's interesting to learn this stuff, even if it's not very useful.

Bye Bye, Puppies

I'm back home after watching the puppies for a week. I think I'm going to miss them, even if they woke me up every day at 5:30 AM because they wanted breakfast, and they wanted it NOW.

The puppies were the same way when it came to dinner--they would go crazy, barking at me until I gave them food. One time, I was jogging outside the house, and they barked at me from all the way across the street because they wanted to eat. You'd think they wouldn't bark at me for their dinner when I wasn't actually in the house.

My mom got a new car while I was gone, so that means I get to use her old car from now on. The car that I drive now is being given to charity, and they're coming to pick it up tomorrow. And while it's nice that I finally have a car that plays CDs, I'm going to miss my old crappy car with the coat hanger for an antenna, and all the dents from when I smashed into things like wooden posts and the side of the house (like Nancy Drew, I am not the world's greatest driver).

So I think I'm going to miss the puppies and my car for a little while this week.

Official Box Artwork for Nancy Drew: Ransom of the Seven Ships

Her Interactive has revealed box art for their upcoming game. It's pretty fancy-looking, although I kinda think all three pictures look a lot alike.

Dog Sitting, Still

I'm still watching the two little dogs, and will be until Tuesday. Libby is kind of lazy--she hates to go on walks, and she likes to eat so much that I have to make sure she doesn't steal Tessa's food.

Then again, I probably shouldn't call Libby lazy, because she wakes up so early. Both dogs like to get up at 6:00 in the morning and start yapping at me for not giving them breakfast already. For the record, I do not like to get up early when I'm on semi-vacation.

People seem to have liked the "Museum Madness" walkthrough I did the other day. I was hoping to do a walkthrough for "Professor Layton and the Curious Village", which is a puzzle mystery for the DS (starring the woman who does Nancy Drew's voice), but the sound came out kind of bad. So I think I might have to do "Chaos" instead, which is a point-and-click game about Chaos theory. There are some really funny parts to that game, specifically, the parts where the gas guy says crazy things like, "Do you think anyone would notice if I put my dog in a dress and took her to prom?"

So, I've just started my week of house-sitting. I'm going to be living here in San Mateo, taking care of two little Schnauzer dogs named Libby and Tessie. They're both girls, but they look like they have mustaches, so I keep thinking of them as boys.

My dog Snickers is a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and I know he was a tiny puppy in the last video, but he's a big dog now. He's over a hundred and ten pounds. We got him in 2001, so he'd be about seven and a half years old now.

I hope to have another video walkthrough completed in a few days, because I have loads of free time now that all I have to do for the rest of the week is watch two dogs who mostly take care of themselves.

They have a chair near the front window in this house, so what the dogs like to do is climb on the chair and just look out th ewindow. That's what they spend most of their time doing. It's kind of cute...but my dog is cuter, of course!

Three Videos for the Weekend

I made three videos this weekend! The first one shows off glitches in Nancy Drew: Stay Tuned for Danger.

The second is the easter eggs in Nancy Drew: Danger on Deception Island.

The third is the much-requested deaths video for Nancy Drew: Danger on Deception Island.

Another New Video

Here's a new video, with the deaths/easter eggs/other stuff from Nancy Drew: Message in a Haunted Mansion. I suggest listening on low volume, because the loud CD for this game makes the recording sound weird when you listen at max volume.

Today, I think I'll tackle Nancy Drew: Danger on Deception Island deaths/easter eggs. Or maybe I'll do the easter eggs for Nancy Drew: Stay Tuned for Danger, because they're much easier to find.

Question: The voice used for Valdez in the seance my memory faulty, or does it sound like the Mystico voice in White Wolf of Icicle Creek? I need to make a deaths/easter eggs video for that game, too! Augh! No rest for the weary!

Nancy Drew: The Haunted Carousel - Deaths Video

Here's a Deaths Video for Nancy Drew: The Haunted Carousel. See, I knew I still remembered how to make movies!

I must say, it's nice to see footage of the game in HD, because the first time I played the game, the footage was jumpy (I was still learning how to make videos at that point). So I recorded more footage than necessary for some of the death scenes.

A Sunday Blog Post--I Have a Hard Time Making Up Names for These Posts, In Case You Couldn't Guess

It turns out that the videos I made of the animals at the San Francisco Zoo didn't record on my video camera. Darn! I got some really good footage, too. So much for having a fun video series about animals.

A question I've never been asked is if I ever replay the Nancy Drew games. By and large, no. I played each game only once by myself, and then I replayed them for the first time when making videos for Youtube. I'm normally too busy to replay the Nancy Drew games! Kind of odd for a Nancy Drew superfan, I know.

So in a way, it's a good thing that I didn't make a deaths video for Nancy Drew: The Haunted Carousel earlier, because it gives me the chance to replay that game now. Yeah!

Happy Mother's Day, everyone!

A Friday Blog Post

My cold is better now. I sound less stuffy, anyway, so I figured I'd work on some more videos for the first time in a few weeks.

Well, instead of making videos, I went to the carnival tonight. I had lots of cotton candy, and I managed to ring the bell at the strong man booth, which won me a pinwheel and a lollipop. Yay! Big, strong men need their lollipops, you know.

My sister is graduating from college tomorrow, so I'll probably be too busy to make videos then. All in all, I'd guess that I'll work on making new videos next week. The games I have here are Haunted Carousel, Message in a Haunted Mansion and Danger on Deception Island, and I'd be making death videos for all three, and easter egg videos for the last two.

A Tuesday Blog Post

Hey, everyone. Sorry for not updating my blog in the past few days. I've been pretty sick. I was going to read while spending my time in bed (there are ten books on my to-read pile right now), but I ended up playing Final Fantasy VI and watching Dragonball Z for most of the time. I might like Nancy Drew, but I still do typical guy things every once in a while.

The house-sitting lady called back, and they changed their vacation plans to go to Hawaii. So I will still be doing house-sitting for her; it will just be a few weeks later, that's all.

My grandmother comes tomorrow, so we have to clean the house today. I think I broke the vacuum, though. My mom is probably not going to be too happy about that.
